Manufacturing Month Nosey Neighbor Tour: Bongards Creameries

October is Manufacturing Month, a time to recognize the vital role manufacturing plays in our communities. Local tours are being offered in partnership with Otter Tail County, the Fergus Falls and Perham Chambers of Commerce, and the Tri-State Manufacturers Association, giving community members a behind-the-scenes look at the innovation, careers, and the inner workings in our region’s manufacturing industry.
Bongards Creameries’ Perham plant transforms fresh milk into the award-winning cheeses they are known for. This busy facility is undergoing a major expansion that will boost its processing capacity to 5.5 million pounds of milk per day. On the tour, you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at the production process and see the impressive new upgrades in action. Please note: Participants should be prepared for a significant amount of walking during the tour without breaks or seating. Because this is a food processing facility, closed-toe shoes are required and no jewelry is allowed.
