Psychology of Negative Space

An exhibition featuring cyanotypes, objects and photos inspired by the Fergus Falls State Hospital. During an artist residency through Springboard for the Arts' Hinge Arts Residency Program, Streekstra made cyanotype prints of hospital objects found in the collection of the Otter Tail Historical Society.

She also photographed a site-specific installation that she created in the Nurse's Cottage at the hospital. Roller shades in the Nurse's Cottage windows depict idioms representing mental and emotional states that also describe the dramatic deterioration of the building.
