The Otter Tail County Historical Society can help with Flock to the Museum from November 15-17. Bring the family to enjoy free museum admission, gift shop sales, and the final weeks of the exhibits “Why Treaties Matter” and “Otter Tail 150.” To make holiday life a bit easier we have a bake sale filled with ethnic treats, cookies, jams and jellies. There is also a great lineup of special programs. On Thursday, November 15, Noon. Kara Tollerud will read excerpts from her book followed at 1 p.m. by Chris Schuelke presenting the program "We Chose Otter Tail County" and then at 2 p.m. Vernal Lind will discuss his latest work The Future Wears A Strange Face. On Friday, November 16, at Noon, Jan Smith will share research and recipes from her book Cooking on the Oxcart Trails 1858. Two programs highlight Saturday, November 17. At 12:30 p.m. Martin Case will speak on “The Relentless Business of Treaties: How Indigenous Land Became U.S. Property.” The weekend culminates at 5:30 p.m. with “Chase the Flying Hours” a dance film created in collaboration with New York City based dance theater company Current Harbor, Battle Lake’s DanceBarn Collective, regional videographer Kristofer Gieske and 32 community dancers.
