Coffee Klatch Series

OTC Historical Society will be hosting a 6 week Coffee Klatch series beginning on Fri., Feb. 17th.
What motivates a group of individuals to devote thousands of hours to a project that often seems like a lost cause? To take a stand in which they have no financial stake? That group is Friends of the Kirkbride and the cause in the preservation and reuse of the FF State Hospital. The Friends of the Kirkbride has been working for several years to ensure that the state hospital complex is not demolished. They have organized security sweeps of the facility, attended countless city council meetings and conduct Friday afternoon tours. Gene & Maxine Schmidt along with Laurie Mullen will talk about their involvement in saving the Kirkbride and what it will take to make it the cornerstone od economic development in Fergus Falls.
