Being Mortal Film Screening & Discussion

Join Lake Region Healthcare & Lakeland Hospice for a free showing of the Emmy nominated PBS Frontline documentary Being Mortal, which explores what matters most to patients and families when faced with serious illness. Dr. Atul Gawande, who wrote the best selling book Being Mortal, is featured in this documentary. After the showing, there will be a panel discussion featuring local physicians and others concerning an inescapable reality of life: death, and how advance care planning work and honoring the wishes of patients can help achieve the goal identified by Dr. Gawande “that the ultimate goal is not a good death but a good life – all the way to the very end.”
